Ceramics of Release – The Crying Plates

As part of its ongoing collaboration with Domus Art Gallery, Okupa presents Ceramics of Release – The Crying Plates, the third exhibition in a rotating series of contemporary artists and exhibitions.

Featuring a new body of work by Roxanne Brennen, The Crying Plates explores ceramics as a vessel for emotion, memory, and personal release. The exhibition presents a ceramic installation of hand-crafted plates and masks, where expressive faces become quiet portraits of emotional release, exploring the relationship between body, emotion, and everyday ritual. Challenging the perception of crying as something to be hidden or suppressed, Brennen invites viewers to see tears as an essential part of transformation and self-discovery.
